Betty Baker

Feb. 17, 1934 — June 2, 2015

Betty Jean (Robinson) Baker was born in Walton County, Ga., on Feb. 17, 1934. Her untimely, sweet and peaceful life ended on June 2, 2015. At an early age she gave her life to Christ and was baptized at the Good Hope Baptist Church in Good Hope, Ga.

Employed by the Travis Air Force Base USO, Betty spent 25 years and most of her professional career dedicated to assisting military families. She later joined Walmart, where she retired after 15 years. She loved spending time with family and friends, collecting recipes and gardening.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory three loving daughters, Melanie and Karen Baker, of Oakland, Calif., Cathy Baker of San Pablo, Calif.; aunt, Mattie Louise Martin Robinson, of Atlanta, Ga.; granddaughter, Bianca Humphrey (Daniel); three great-grandchildren, Dionte, Jalen and Anaia of Las Vegas, Nev.; sister, Evelyn Robertson Hudson, of Albany, Ga.; brother, William Herman Robertson, of Lawrenceville, Ga.; and scores of other relatives and treasured friends.

She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Arlis Baker; son, Andre Baker; parents, Rhuvaster and Katie Martin Robertson.

Betty was predestined by God to be earnest and a peacemaker. She walked with queens, but did not lose the common touch.

A memorial service was held Wednesday, June 10, 2015, at Fairfield Presbyterian Church in Fairfield, Calif.
