View Original Notice ? Coachella 2022: Harry Styles brings Lizzo on stage to join him on Weekend 2
Harry Styles had more surprises to share with fans for his second performance at Weekend 2 of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
After his Weekend 1 performance included the debut of two new songs and country music legend Shania Twain joining him on the Main Stage, speculation was on as fans wondered if Weekend 2’s set would be the same or not.
Styles did perform his new songs, “Boyfriend” and “Late Night Talking.” This time, however, it was Lizzo who joined him. She performed “I Will Survive” by Gloria Gaynor, wearing a coat that looked it was made from the same material as an orange feather boa. Styles wore one too, but his was pink.
Next, Styles sang “What Makes You Beautiful,” the hit song from his former boy band One Direction, as a duet with Lizzo.
Lizzo recently dropped a new single called “About Damn Time,” and her new album “Special” is expected on July 15. But that wasn’t the only reason she was likely asked to perform with Styles.
The friendship between the two singers goes back multiple years. Styles performed a cover of Lizzo’s hit song “Juice” in the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge in 2019. In 2020, they performed together at one of her shows in Miami, Florida, and also shared a special, loving moment together at The Brit Awards.
After performing in a jumpsuit with large colorful sequins on Weekend 1, Styles opted for a red and silver jacket with red pants — all appearing to be made of leather — for this weekend’s performance. During the first song, “As It Was,” the jacket was removed to reveal a similar looking vest with nothing else underneath it.
The ensemble also included big silver letters “H” and “S” on the back of the pants and was adorned with large, sparkly images of strawberries and cherries.
Another surprise on Weekend 2 was Styles singing “Medicine,” an unreleased song that he previously performed on tour.
