Longtime Weed resident Jeffrey Olen Puckett passed away on September 27, 2018 at his home in Weed surrounded by his family and friends following a lengthy illness. He was 38 years old.
Jeff was born on January 25, 1980 in Stockton to John and Kimberly Puckett. He attended school in the Yreka area and graduated from Discovery High. While in school, Jeff liked to race his BMX bike in Yreka. He was a cook at the Trout Café in Dunsmuir. Jeff enjoyed playing guitar and drums, listening to heavy metal, and was known as a prankster. He loved to laugh, joke and make people happy. He especially loved his dogs.
Jeff is survived by his father, John Puckett of Yreka; his mother, Kim Hampton of Stockton; his uncles, Robert Puckett of Hornbrook and Tom Puckett of Yreka; his aunts, Rosie Puckett of Texas and Faith Crowder of Yreka; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and by the love of his life, his fiancé Gina Buttz of Weed.
